The Season of Colour and Richness.

Dramatic sunsets are only one of the many joys Autumn brings.

Apple trees laden with fruit, a bumper crop this year. We only have five trees in our tiny orchard but still they produce more than we can eat or cook!

As the nights draw in, one of the great pleasures of the season is to light a log fire and a scented candle. Candle light illuminates even the simplest rooms with a comforting glow.

Bean loves to snuggle up on the sofa too.

Neighbouring cattle reflected in the sunrise. The light at this time of year is beautiful and bathes everything in gold.

Porridge, the perfect breakfast for an Autumn morning.

Even though Winter isn't far behind, Autumn seems determined each year to go out in a blaze of glory, reminding us that colour will arrive again once Winter fades, with the unfurling of Spring. We are so fortunate in Britain to have the differing seasons, each marking it's own beauty, if only we are prepared to look.
