Hints of Autumn

Early morning mist and old willow.

I am always ridiculously excited by the start of Autumn. I know it means the end of Summer but there is something so inspiring about the change in colour, air, the sights and sounds that this glorious season brings. The whole "New Term" feeling gets me every year. Maybe it is having a birthday in the Autumn, I don't know, but I look forward to this time of year with real anticipation. I seem to have more energy and purpose. It still makes me want to rush out and buy new stationery, new books with pristine, unused pages, new pencil cases, new shoes and lovely grey pleated skirts and v neck jumpers, the pleasure of childhood memories without actually having to go to school!

Boots, buckets, bees and windfall apples.

The countryside looks incredible as the Autumn approaches, there is colour and texture to be found everywhere on our morning dog walks.

Berries, rose hips and sketching ideas.

One of the many joys of Autumn are the delicious blackberries filling the hedgerows. Crumble anyone!

Have a great weekend.

  1. I am also looking forward to Autumn, it's my favourite season. Can't wait for those leave to change colour, drop and crunch beneath my feet. A beautiful little sketch you've made of the duck.
